Russian news agencies claimed rescue officials as stating there are no survivors after an airplane carrying 28 people crashed in Russia’s far east on Tuesday, sixth of July this year.
According to the emergencies’ ministry, the Antonov An-26 twin-engined turboprop was in its route from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to Palana, a settlement in the north of the Kamchatka peninsula, after it lost connection with air traffic control.
According to a report by Reuters, the plane was believed to have crashed into a cliff as it was prepared to land in bad visibility conditions, citing sources.
After the emergency’s ministry despatched a helicopter and put teams on the ground to seek for the missing plane, Russia’s civil aviation authority declared that the site of the plane’s crash had been discovered .
According to the govt , there were twenty-two passengers and six crew members on board. The mayor of Palana, Olga Mokhireva, was among the passengers, according to local authorities quoted by TASS.
