Minimum Ten new cases of Zika virus have been reported from the Indian state Kerala.
Out of 13 samples sent to NIV (national institute of Virology) located at Pune ten of them have come positive for Zika Virus
Health minister of Kerala Veena George said “ we have doubt about positives in the samples sent to NVI’’
According to sources all the cases are from Thiruvandpuam
Zika virus is a mosquito -borne Flavivirus that was at very first found in monkeys in 1947 in Uganda according to WHO
Zika virus is highly spread through bites of mosquitoes .
While Zika Virus doesn’t cause any serious health problems . But it can cause birth defects such as microcephaly and other congenital abnormality when Zika virus is found in pregnant women
Even if most people with Zika virus have no symptoms , some have medical conditions such as fever ,rash, muscle and joint pain, and headache And discomfort. Zika virus normally takes 2- 7 days
The large majority of Zika virus is not spread transferred from person to person, but it may pass from one person to another person during Sexual intercourse.
