The Mumbai police have detained actor Shilpa Shetty’s husband, businessman Raj Kundra, in connection with a case involving pornographic films. Mr Kundra was arrested yesrerday, according to the Mumbai Police Department.
“as he appears to be the key conspirator of this”.
The police also stated that they have “adequate evidence” against Raj Kundra, but that they are continuing their investigation.
The complaint was filed with the Mumbai Crime Branch in February this year, and it involved the making of pornographic videos and their distribution through several apps.
“In February 2021, a case was filed with the Crime Branch of Mumbai over the making of pornographic films and their distribution through various Apps. On 19/7/21, we apprehended Mr Raj Kundra in this case, as he looks to be the main conspirator. We have solid proof in this regard.,” Mumbai Commissioner of Police said.
Raj Kundra has requested anticipatory release in the case, denying any wrongdoing. Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty married in 2009, and their first child, Viaan Raj Kundra, was born in 2012. Last year, the couple received their second child, a daughter named Samisha, through surrogacy.
Raj Kundra, the founder of the JL Stream app, was a part-owner of the Rajasthan Royals, an Indian Premier League cricket franchise.
