WhatsApp’s Messenger Rooms feature has been deactivated.

WhatsApp, the Facebook-owned instant messaging platform, has just rolled out a slew of new features for its users. The group icon editor, as well as the option to move chats from Android to iPhones and vice versa, are among the new features. Now, it appears that WhatsApp may discontinue a function that was introduced last year. The function in question is WhatsApp Messenger Rooms. This tool was first introduced in May 2020, and it allows users to rapidly create a group on Facebook Messenger with up to 50 members.

WhatsApp Messenger Rooms are being phased out.

The WhatsApp Messenger Rooms shortcut has been removed from the conversation share sheet for both the iOS and Android versions of the programme, according to WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp tracking site. According to the source, this shortcut has been replaced with another. It also states that the corporation may be monitoring the use of this service and may have concluded that few people are using it.

The WhatsApp beta versions for iOS and Android beta version have been discovered without the WhatsApp Messenger Rooms shortcut in the conversation sharing screen, according to the report. This suggests that in some versions, the messaging platform may have disabled the capability.

In the in-chat menu, users will eventually see shortcuts to share Document, Camera, Audio, Gallery, Location, and Contact. These will assist them in tapping on the appropriate shortcut and sharing the relevant information with their WhatsApp contacts.
